Chilling little film about British serial killer John Christie. Filmed partly at the actual location where the murders took place.
Richard Attenborough plays the lead role with creepy perfection, and John Hurt amazing as Christie's unfortunate flat renter. Far more disturbing and haunting than a dozen Hannibal Lector cheezefests.

Classic film!
I remember putting it on the video for an old girlfriend back in the UK and she sobbed for the entire second half of the movie. Not tears trickling down cheeks but uncontrollable sobbing - so moved was she by Attenborough's performance and the hopelessness of Timothy Evans' (Hurt) situation. It's a film that stays long in the memory.
