Re: ECC - Teaching Business English

sorry all! my use of experience has been misunderstood, i mean experience in teaching english mainly because as i said, most business courses are just english courses based on business topics.

there are lots of teachers in LOS who come from profesional backgrounds. lawyers, medical..etc..etc.
some companies want specific skills based training now. that is a different ball game.
most of the student have studied abroad and use english for their work here.
they make presentations, have negotiations and use a lot of written communication. in this case it would help if the teacher is familiar with the skills, no? it also helps if the teacher comes from a background that is similar to the company.
if any of you were employing a teacher for business english and you were presented with the choice of 5 years teaching at all levels or an ECC business english teacher cert, which would you choose. don't bother answering because i know your answers already, hence i think it would be a waste of time and money if you're going to flash it at potential employers. As KK said a good tefl course should have covered this area already.
if you're doing it to get a taste of teaching, do a course that is recognised.
