Wasn't the origin of this thread that PB was pointing out how misleading it is to assume that all farang teachers are comfortably off compared to their thai colleagues, based sumply on their salaries?

Seemed a well argued point, to me.

I also think that 'living a very comfortable life' on 35k is unlikely if you are literally talking about a whole life, retirement, children's education etc. included.

For sure 35k can make for an enjoyable interlude!
