Movies - what you seen and was it any good?

Just wondered if there was any interest in a continuing thread about opinions/reactions on movies seen recently?

To test the waters, I'll drop in a few comments about The Departed.

I'd rate it seven out of 10. Jack Nicholson steals the show as the disgustingly horrible crime boss, whose character just reveals ever deeper layers of awfulness as the movie progresses. Jack is just wallowing in it. It's disgustingly fascinating - I couldn't take my eyes off him.
Matt Damon is good as the cop who turns bad while pretending to be good. I like him.
Leonardo di Caprio comes from the opposite end as the undercover cop who is pretending to be bad while actually he's on the good side. He spends most of the movie with his brows furrowed. I'd rate the performances by di Caprio and Damon as on a similar level, but neither is as deeply rendered as Nicholson's.
The movie is very very violent - most of the leading characters are dead by the end. The main survivor, the psychiatrist who becomes the lover of both Damon and di Caprio's characters, was unconvincing to me. Her acting was OK but the character just didn't gel for me.
The movie is also plastered with almost every known swearword. How you feel about that is up to you of course.
Its a quality movie, but don't go along for the laughs.

Over to you...
