Following on from the other Phnom Penh thread here are some more pics i've taken of khmer temples in thailand and cambodia
phnom rung in issan. pretty small and loads of people on this particular day. it's been kept in surprisingly good shape by the thais though.
this is the view up the main walkway
a beautiful apsara dancer carving. these are all over angkor wat as well
the main temple in phnom rung
next is
prasat preah vihear just across from the thai border. it's an amazing temple built up on the edge of a cliff overlooking the cambodian plains.

this is the base of the first flight of stairs going up to the cliff top temple.
the walkway you reach when you ascend those stairs
proud to be a khmer! on the way up again
the final temple building. not very impressive but behind it is one of the greatest views i have ever seen.
well worth the climb!!
angkor .. if you've never been you're missing out! it's on the outskirts of
siem reap which incidentally means
siamese defeated in khmer
the view on the way into one of the gates of angkor thom
the guardians of the gate
stunning carved face in the bayon temple
a very small sample of the stone art which adorns the outer walls of the bayon
life still goes on amid the tourists
the steep steps of ta keo. i'm much to frightened of heights to climb up them myself!
the jungle temple ta prohm
the obligatory shot of angkor wat
the view looking back to the causeway. the balloon rides are about $10 for 10 minutes i think
