laptop power switch

Ouch and ouch.

A couple of day back, after three years of problem free operation, I went to turn my laptop on and couldn't power it up. It an LG/IBM. The power switch is a simple push button.

I presume this could be one of a thousand things. Absolutely no indications that this was coming...so a real drag.

If the power switch is broken, is there anyway around it.

Any other thoughts appreciated.

Oh, when I plug it in neither the green operation or red "charging" light comes on.?
