Re: laptop power switch

Thanks Whitey...

I did drop it off at my "local shop". Returned at six o'clock tonight and sure enough...the computer was working well.

The local guy here is a very fine fellow. When I dropped the laptop off, he was half way through a glass of whiskey. But that's fine. I have drinks myself.

When I returned, the laptop was all fired up and ready to go.

Except when I got it home I plugged it in and nothing. Except now the red charging light is on. But the switch still doesn't work. Presumably the technician somehow got it to work for him but when it was time for me to return, he was off somewhere and no-one in the shop spoke English.

Anyway, thanks Whitey. Tomorrow morning I will try to talk to the local technician and see what the score is. Thanks for the offer. I'll likely e-mail you tomorrow. I think an English speaking technician may be the key to this.
