Re: laptop power switch

I think this is essentially a battery problem.

It seems somehow that a fucked up battery interferes with normal startup process, even on AC power?

I have two questions. Would appreciate any suggestions. I've checked the internet and not much there.

1. The only way I can seem to run my laptop is without that screwed battery. Now I do live in the sticks and power outages a not unusual. Can someone tell me...if the powe goes out and there is no backup battery what is the worst that can happen?

(or is there a second smaller battery somewhere that kicks in?)...Surely this is not an uncommon occurence...dead battery and AC power outage.

2. If the power goes out, will the machine automatically shut down?

3. Anybody suggest where I might find a replacement LG/IBM battery? I wonder if it's the same battery as the Thinkpad?

Anyway..thanks.

(Bitch finding these things in the sticks)
