Same as running, do laps but increase the distance covered gradually.

If your looking to burn off some fat that starts after the first 20 minutes of increasing your heartrate, until then you are using up sugars/glucose, not converting fat into energy. Start at 30 minutes and increase it when you feel capable and ready.

Mix it up with some running for variation.

Hate jogging myself, prefer to swim.
