They have a shabu shabu here in Korea. It is a spin-off of the one in Thailand; and I presume it is originally Japanese?
I wasn't really impressed with it, since sitting on the floor under a midget table, cramps the legs after awhile. I also didn't like how we had to share the same big croc pot of mish mash, that the ajumma, kept shooting in the pot. Sharing food with chopsticks is just gross. Needless to say, I won't be returning.
