You don't need to learn the language. The Metatrader platform is one used by a lot of traders because it's free and one of the best. If you are a programmer, you can create your own customised indicators which might help with your trading. I know of some traders who use the MT platform to see what the market is doing but then press buttons to buy or sell on another platform such as Oanda. Oanda is popular because the spreads are very narrow on the main currencies.
