That's part of Allen Carr's approach, as it happens.

Although personally I changed part of my routine - simply because I can't take being surrounded by smokers anymore.

After a couple of years getting a stinging sore throat I now mostly avoid bars unless open air or non smoking.

I don't know why, but I seem to more susceptible to sore throats and stinging eyes from passive smoking than people who have never smoked.

Do any other ex smokers find this?
