Re: Nottingham
Contrary to popular belief, Sherwood Forest is not in Nottingham, but some 20 miles north past the village of Ollerton where the Sherwood Forest Visitors center is, and where the Major Oak is still desparately propped up. I am not sure about Wifi access, but if you can get Internet in accessable temples in Phattalung, I'm sure they can manage it in Notts.
Nottingham does still have a Sherrif, but it's a largely ceremonial role....and was an Indian bloke a couple of years ago....there is tons of cashing in on the Robin Hood Legend, including a statue, and an "Experience" center...(animatronics ride, and exhibitions etc). There's a fairly impressive castle/museum on a hill in the center, but it's 18th century.
There are also two 13th century pubs next door to each other that both claim to be the worlds oldest.
There is some urban legend that girls outnumber boys 4:1, but it's most likely bollocks.

I like ajarn.com. It is a fun place. I was going to get out my list of great grievances, grandiose gripes, grand groans, grave grumbles and my granduer of grating grim grisly grime, but I won't, because I can't stop growing with the gruesome gritty grubby and grotesque grin.
