I think my chief complaint is not that they cut costs, but the willingness to accept that the lack of comforts are to be expected with low-cost airlines...this whole thread has been highlighting the fact that Nok Air is almost exactly the same price (and sometimes lower), yet they prove that seat allocation is not an exercise in cost savings, rather it's an excuse to reduce the level of service one receives in order to charge extra for the "priviledge" of not being caught in the crush. You can even reserve your seat on Nok air at no extra cost. Their optional exta is Nok Plus which allows you in the business class seats for 500 baht extra, and get's you a Thai airways style snack. That's the right way round....give you the basics and upgrade, rather than Air Asias, take away the basics and offer them back as a bonus.
