I had lunch in the Bull's Head yesterday with Stickman. We ordered two Cokes and told the waitress to give us a few minutes to look at the menu. She gave us half an hour. During that lifetime 30 minutes, we watched a delivery of Carlsberg shoved through the front door sucking out all the air-conditioning in the process. Whatever happened to the good old tradesman's entrance? remember those? I then began to realise why we were the only people in the place. I had the Fish and chips and Sticky had a steak pie and chips. The food was good but it seemed to have gone up considerably since I was last there. The bill came to 915 baht and there was nothing alcoholic on it.
As 1.00 came, the downstairs section did fill up with a few miserable-looking expats and a whole host of characters to remind me why I don't go out anymore.
