SCOOZI (THONG LOR) UPDATE!

SD, myself and a friend ate there last Sunday and are still wishing we hadn't: it was a terrible disappointment. Everything we ordered was Clark Kent bland. We started with 2 salads and 2pizzas (no pasta as we already knew from previous experience they are weak on fresh pasta and sauce). The caprese I had was ok, I guess, but SD's caesar was nearly too sweet to eat, and the added kilo of boiled corn didn't make up for the taste. A pizza margherita and a seafood pizza followed. We now wished they hadn't. The tomato sauce on both pizzas was in dire need of insulin to balance the sugar, the crusts were nearly uncooked in the centers, and the toppings were tasteless, even with added chili oil (in a napkin-wrapped leaking container) and oregano. The "wine" hadn't made it past the really old grape juice stage. The waitress was confused (though polite, ka) and actually thought we had ordered a pizza with orange juice topping. SD had to calm her down.

What moved out attention away from truly bad food was the War at Center Table. A farang couple with 4 kids under 6....the only time the mother intervened was when flying forks threatened blindness (at another table). They left oblivious to the disorder their spawn had caused.

A miserable experience and a guarantee of never returning. I wonder what happened in the kitchen....
