Re: Koh Samet - Please Help

Hi all,

Thanks for the replies. I agree that staying on KSR would not be the best choice. I will look into other guest houses in that general area. Thanks.

As for Samet, could you clarify why you say it's not very good? When I was there I thought it was really nice with less people. Also, I like the proximity to Bangkok, Chonburi, and Rayong. Not to mention that I could easily head to Chang for a few nights if I fancied a change of scenery.

650THB seems expensive. Still, even if I were paying 1,000THB a night, I think it would be worth the money. Living in China is not as good as Thailand (for too many reasons to list here)...but suffice to say that I am very much looking forward to being back in Thailand! I would have to say that the $ goes a lot further in Thailand than it does in China. Overall cost of living in China is probably cheaper (and you can stay in really nice gated communities for very little rent)...but the cost of good food and travel is much higher here.

Been to Koh Chang a few times...my x Thai gfs family have a resort there...could stay for free...but wouldn't feel right seeing how I am bringing my Chinese gf with me...shame.
