There are some truly hilarious questions on this forum. "Is Red Hot Chili Peppers metal?" "What about Pearl Jam?" I mean Jesus, people have been beaten mercilessly for better questions than these.

Gonna disagree with Zehner on the AC/DC. They're not metal. Otherwise spot on records. Slayers guitars are amazing.

Never really been into death metal myself. But I really love some of the metal/hardcore/punk crossover bands out there. Less scream, more technical and overall a bit less "chunky" than more more traditional old school metal. There is some real talent lurking out there in this crossover genre. Some examples:

Strung Out-Exile in Oblivion

A Wilhelm Scream-Career Suicide

Killswitch Engage-As Daylight Dies

Anyone who likes technical guitar work and just downright fast music should def. consider checking these records out.
