In these matters it is always best to consult the experts. Yes, that means ManOwaR!!

Here in the song "Gloves of metal" they detail one of the most important facets of metal, volume:

Quote:
The sound of metal so loud it cracks the beams
Played by warriors called the Metal Kings.
"Cracks the beams" you see. Not mid-volume or even loud by most peoples standards. So loud, in fact, that it cracks the beams (the structure of the hall they happen to be playing in presumably.)

Clothes are also important too. From the same song:
Quote:
We wear leather, we wear spikes, we rule the night
Headbanging too!

Quote:
See the banging heads awaken to their dreams.
That about sums it up for me.

Right! According to ManOwaR that would make you an "enemy of metal". As the song "The Gods Made Heavy Metal" clearly states:

Quote:
It's more than our religion it's the only way to live
But the enemies of metal we can't forgive
...which would mean you should probably...

Quote:
go on get out,
Leave the hall!
Sorry mate.

...from "Metal Warriors (Brothers Of Metal Pt. I)"

It goes way beyond that though. Metal's been going for nearly 40 years. Every few years practically a new interpretation of it pops up.

One of the classics. Frost were such an exttraodinarly creative and original band. They really broke the mold. Unfortunately they've broken up again.
