You are new to teaching? I don,t know. Just guessing.

You COULD, if you wanted to be sneaky, ask your students what rules they would like to see imposed. And what should the punishments be for breaking or flouting those rules ?

You may be surprised at how mature the answers are. Some learning psychologists believe that the students respond better to rules that they have had a part in deciding.

Just a thought.
