Re: Movies - what you seen and was it any good?
No Country for Old Men.
Loved the laconic humor, the wide open spaces and the evocation of the people and the places. The main characters are all beautifully done and the visuals are wonderful. Its very violent, of course. I actually cared about the way a couple of the characters were treated, which is a good sign in a movie. Ultimately depressing, of course, since the bad guy wins. The characters seem battered, depressed and disappointed at the huge canyon between their hopes and reality. Maybe that's how America feels at this time? It deserved the awards, but its not a feelgood movie.
