JD is of course wrong here. It's not that easy to delete the registry, you would have to go into DOS on boot up.

Your system looks more like format and re-install (XP of course

). I'll ask on another forum if somebody has had the same experience like you on their Vista machines. To me it looks like a matter of fooling around but not cleaning up afterwards or Vista is just that dumb.
