There's sad and then there's manipulative though. I remember watching that Pay It Forward movie a few years ago and while I thought it was a little too wishy washy and saccharine it was on the whole not a particularly shit movie. However, that was before ***SPOILER*** they for absolutely no reason killed off the little boy at the end. The story was essentially over. The kid dying served no purpose to the theme and story of the film only that it served to make stupid women leave a trail of kleenex as they exited the multiplex. Cheap calculated Hollywood cuntery.
