65 is the money market rate. Thai banks are artificially supporting the pound (and dollar) to help tourism and exports

On the flip side sending money home you get screwed!

I think he means the bank used the wrong conversion rate. Otherwise, I can't think of any explanation absent the total amount in Pounds being higher than what is reflected on the form.

Nah it's not a case of that (and I already spoke to 8Ball about it last night).

I just think xe.com et al are 'fucked'...something's going on???

I was in a cold sweat a couple of months ago when I used the XE converter and it was quoting around 63 to the porn angrit.

I look at the Bankok Bank page now and breathe again. It quotes around Hok Sip Gao. You can go straight to it from the Post Business section. There's a link near the top marked EXCH RATES in a yellow box, so it's dead easy to find.

In simple English Zehner please....import/export??? I don't get it???

So xe.com gives a crapper rate to make people buy/sell stuff from/to here but then the actual rate isn't true...so won't that then annoy people??? I did do business studies for a bit but we just learnt about bulls and bears and other animals!!!
