You have an extremely strange logic Nemo. The outside world puts a greater value on the baht than the banks in-country so you come to the conclusion it is monopoly money??
This Butterfly character seems extremely rude too. We are not all stupid and realise there may be minor differences between rates in Thailand and those outside of Thailand. They are not however, usually as large as this or, as Nemo mentioned earlier, people would take advantage of the difference and the gap would quickly close.
KK, if you can get your money over here in Sterling then you are going to get a reasonable rate for it when you exchange it at a local bank (67-68), as I think you know already. If you have to do what I do (withdraw over here from a UK bank account) then you will get the 65 baht to the pound rate that the rest of the world thinks the currency is worth.
It has been fairly steady for the last month maybe, so I don't see much point in worrying too much about the timing. I don't think the economy here is on the point of collapse - if I am wrong then maybe you can ridicule me on here to ease the pain of making a loss.
