Re: What was your last stock trade?
I've done OK intraday with Marks and Spencer and Barclays in the last week. Both companies have shed about two thirds of their value in the last year. Good long term but you can also pick up (or drop) 5 - 6 % per day.
Current market turmoil is unsettling though. The US is dragging global markets up and down day by day. There was hardly any news yesterday and the Dow dropped 250 points. What the fuck is that all about?...

Re: What was your last stock trade?
It is the excessive high cost of petrol products that is causing the global recession in my opinion. Also too much money in circulation. This makes commodities (real things) more valuable (except housing as it was affected by the subprime debacle).
I am waiting for a new trading range to establish.
In 2001 I jumped in too soon and got burned. (Nasdaq was at around 2300, after losing about 60 percent of its value. It went down to about 1200 just after Sept. 11.) So much of my stocks investments were about half of the starting value.
Once the new equlibrium is established, I will go for dividend yielding stocks. Or ones that own vast amounts of real estate, oil, etc.

Re: What was your last stock trade?
My last stock trade was a buy. I'd rather not say. It may be some time before a turnout around, but the stop-loss order has not kicked in, yet.

Re: What was your last stock trade?
Well, on Friday I did some day trades on the YM. Wow! This last week was intraday heaven. I'm just paper trading the YM though, so I didn't get to keep at that money I made.
I, like a lot of other, am very intently watching the steel sector. I'm watching X on monday. If I see a bounce, with longer term traders buying in, then I'm all over the steel sector on the Thai market. Namely Gsteel and GJS, only for day trades however. You can't hedge yourself in Thailand, and holding anything long in this market, for a shorter term trader, is suicide.

Re: What was your last stock trade?
I did some scalp trade on IEC today, broke even. It's hard to make money going long when the market is spilling. I'm looking forward to a possible bounce on Monday. The stocks on my watchlist for the Thai market will be, IEC, BAY, and LIVE. All three are presenting good day trading oppurtunites.
For a bounce in the US tonight I'll be watching AG stocks, steel, and Techs. If it doesn't look like a bounce I'll check out my new software for trading the YM ( the mini dow futures contracts) from global futures.

Re: What was your last stock trade?
Well, everything just kind of sucked today. Just to sum it up. Boring as hell, and what ever wouldn't go up went down. The US is looking to gap up today. Hey Laoshi, have you been trading long?
