Months after I moved out from my apartment, I might finally be getting my deposit back. What is the best way (i.e. takes out the least fees) to send money from the US to Thailand?
Does anyone have experience with using PayPal for this situation? Would sending a US check by snail mail work?
I'd rather not go through Western Union or another wire transfer service, since the fees they charge are so steep. And I want every last bit of my apartment deposit! I've searched other forums, and most of the advice seemed complicated where the other person has access to your account in the US. I do NOT want to do that!
Any helpful advice is appreciated. Thanks!
Western Union
...1) do you have an account with a commercial bank in the US?
...2) do you have an account with a commercial bank in Thailand?
...if the answers to 1 and 2 are yes: initiate a bank transfer from one account to the other (B of A charges $25 per transfer of up to $1,000)...
...or...
...carry the cash on your person and exchange it in Thailand...
...majestically enthroned amid the vulgar herd...
Tomcat: thanks for the advice.
