A bloke goes into a pub and the barmaid asks what he wants.

Reduce the high street banking sector to one or two big players, sell all our power companies to the French or Germans, reduce manufacturing to high value niche items & import everything else from China. Bet the country's wealth on hunches about the wealth of other countries & foreign companies in a few weeks time.

Back when I was living in Phnom Penh I used to read The Phnom Penh Post and in it there was a police blotter that had the local goings on in the way of crime. It occurred to me that Ayutthaya does not have this...

Speaking tests and conveniently timed gifts...

My kids have had speaking and listening tests the past two weeks. That means they watch a movie to keep them occupied while I call them up one at a time to do the test. Since my room is carpeted, they like to stretch out on the carpet during the movies, and I don't really care... except it does worry me a bit when they lie there cuddling. One kid sat down between his two friends and gave them both a kiss on the cheek.

What makes this even weirder is that if there happens to be a kiss
