Hi I'm dillpickles98, I have been traveling to Thailand since 1982. Learned to speak Thai in Jeddah, Saudia Arabia while working as an American Expat. My first visit had me learning to speak with the Thai Ambassadors wife. Now married, my wife, and permanent resident of the U.S. for 5 yrs. from Samut Prakan and I will retire in two years. We haven't yet decided where we will settle, but have entertained the thought of me teaching English, while she opens a restaurant. I had a restaurant before in my longtime Thai friends bar in Pattaya. I do hold an Associates Degree in a non-related field, and have formal classroom experience as an instructor. I have a wealth of knowledge and experience of Thailand. Does anyone think it possible with TEFL cert. I could gain employment. Although my retirement will allow us to live in relative comfort, depending on where I'd like to explore my options.

If you retire to Thailand your wife could lose her green card. Remember that U.S. residency is a requirement.
