Aaaah Diggadigga Koowah!
Posted 27th June 2008 at 05:21 by LDMA
For the last 6 months or so, my daughter has had a very annoying fussy habit.
She has been utterly obsessed with having her top half tucked into her bottom half, whether it be t-shirt into jeans or knickersif round the house.
If this is not the case we've been informed of the dreadful state of affairs with the following rallying call...."Aaaah Diggadigga Koowah!"...it's anyone's guess where this came from, but without fail preceded any intelligible language, such as "tuck me in please, I'm not comfortable". If this has not been sorted out a violent tantrum ensues.
Trying to put her off her kooowing proved fruitless...and all we got for our efforts were the lamented sobs of "babies koowah, big girls don't koowah" between her frantic diggadigga koowaahs.
Until yesterday. Kan noticed that when Malina was in her nightie and was told that it was like a dress, she ceased trying to get her to tuck it into her underpants. Sensing a breakthrough, I blagged her this morning that the t-shirt, which she would normally have me tucking in all day with her diggadigga koowahs was just like a dress and we should leave it untucked.
NOT ONE DIGGADIGGA KOOWAH ALL DAY!
The point here is that you can tell a toddler she's acting like a baby for months, yet all it took was a single line that made her feel that she would enjoy life better with her shirt untucked. Kids are odd creatures I tell ye!
