Leaving England - last installment???

2 days of work left and 2 weeks today I begin my journey. Bought an external hard drive yesterday, 320GB, spent today filling it (well, 30GB of stuff) with all the relevent teaching materials I could find. I've got schemes of work and all resources for Science 11-18, Maths 11-16 and French 11-16 (I thought I could adapt them for English, perhaps possible with some things). I'm a genius! Now I just need to get all the stuff off my sister who teaches languages.
Was given 4400Baht by everyone at work today. I'm going to spend it on a flight to Krabi and nice hotel on Raillay beach at the beginning of September, just so I can send them back some photos as they get back to work for the new school year.
Its starting to hit home about the things I'm going to miss. Friends I'm saying goodbye to, the card I got at work was full of really nice comments, the headmaster, who never speaks to me, came over to express his sadness that I'm leaving, I'm having the expected second thoughts, but if it all goes tits up I can always come back. To Scotland, not here!
To anyone concerned about getting a 12 month visa from Hull, I got mine with a letter from my TEFL provider, no guarantees of work, nothing, but 12 months was no problem. I can't be sure of this, but if you look half respectable in the photo you send, are willing to pay the £100 and can fill in a form, just send your application off and Robert's your mother's brother, you get a visa.
My other concern is accomodation. Nick S has emailed me saying the stuff that Chichester College provides is OK and I'm now being tempted by it as I'm not fussy, but another side of me feels like treating myself to a little luxury. My thread in the accomodation section of the forum has attracted as much attention as a Christian preacher in a brothel, so I'm left with two choices - go with the Chichester option, brothelesque as it may be - or land, get hotel then spend a day or two looking for something in the right location at the right price with the right surroundings. I'll probably go for the latter, more expensive and I'll not be in the same accomodation as my fellow TEFLers, but they'll probably smell and I'll be somewhere nice. Or not.
Off to buy some chocolates for my tutor group here in England, the way they're going on, I'm going to have a bunch of 14 year old rough inner city kids in tears on Friday am. Good for the ego! thats all folks!
