Leaving England - Part 362982......

Posted 28th July 2008 at 05:59 by naboo
This is it. In 72 hours, I'll be ordering my last pint of good old British ale, getting set to fly in the morning. My Dad's paid for me to stay for 3 nights in the Veronica Residence Boutique on Ratchadapisek Road, next to Suthisan station so very close to Chichester College where I will become a student once again. Apparently he wasn't too pleased with my idea of getting a cab to Ratchadapisek Road and hoping to land a nice place. It'll give me a good opportunity to explore the area and find somewhere good to stay for 6 weeks.

Spent the last week taking in the best of Britain, beer and the coutryside. I've been down to the Gower and the mountains in mid Wales. Today I went for a walk along my favourite track above Mordiford (near my home town of Hereford) with a long lost ex, followed by sunday roast at her's and some adult entertainment . Its all making me want to stay. The kids were fantastic when I left work, even I was close to tears. Someone tell me why I'm going again.....

I've been spending some time going over notes from my Thai language lessons, then working through the Benjamin Poowsan Becker beginner book. Nothing's sinking in. When its on paper, it just doesn't mean anything, I need to get talking to Thai people.

Not packed, but decided my world atlas is coming with me. It might be 70cmx40cm, but I'm not leaving it behind. Its brilliant, half of it is the index of place names. Anything you want to know about the world is in that book. I'll also be taking a few clothes, not many as the climate is so different, and I've been planning nearly a year so just haven't bought anything, a wash bag, my laptop, iPod, documents such as education certificates and then however many books I can fit into my allowance. Oh, and a load of CDs and DVDs I've managed to find these boxes for, can get about 80 into a tiny (well, 80CD thichness) box. And 4 bank cards (3 seperate curent account debit cards and a credit card).

I'm as organised as I can be, tomorrow and Tuesday to say goodbye to my (broken) family, then Wednesday I'm off to the big lights of London. Adios for now.
