  1. Bush in the Classroom

    by on 12th April 2009 at 03:03
I clipped this from an article on MSNBC:

Bush is less concerned about the opinions of his current critics than those of future generations, Caldwell said. Last month, Bush visited an American government class at Southern Methodist University to lecture to a group of 19- and 20-year-olds, people who were not old enough to have voted for or against him. His appearance was planned one week in advance but kept secret until the moment he walked into a classroom flanked by the university ...

  2. Ayutthaya Grand Event

    by on 22nd November 2008 at 09:02
It was a day of low and high observation...low meaning the have-nots and high meaning the haves. It's interesting...I don't really even have to actively go out hunting to get a news story. Things just pop up here in Ayutthaya as I go about my daily business.

I was heading to one of the mass-franchise department/food stores to do a bit of (economical) shopping yesterday. On my way to the place, I saw a couple of Thai security guys and a couple of pickup trucks parked next to them. ...

Parties...so fun. Went to one the other night. Was a networking blast. No ajarns.

I haven't had so much fun since I don't know when. Actually, there were a few parties here in Ayutthaya to which I went, but this one was definitely interesting. It really reminded me of the olden days...say fifteen or twenty years ago. Meeting some of the people that I met.

Got a call from an old friend of mine today. He's teaching here and was in the U.S. Army. Kind of retired, but ...

  5. Thoughts...

I saw what was left over of a car accident the other night coming back from having a drink with a couple of friends and some tourists. Basically what appeared to have happened was that the car careened off the road and was sitting in a ditch with its headlights on. Around the car were some ladies and gents talking, and an ambulance had pulled up. I took a photo of the incident after asking if everyone was OK, and thought I might post it somewhere as Ayutthaya news. I think news can happen in ...
