I've got router/logistical problems, can you offer any assistance??
Well, it appears as if my D-Link DSL-G604T kicked the bucket after only 2 months.... but only partly. The LAN, both wi-fi and ethernet, works without a hitch, the status light blinks away as it should, but the ADSL light is permanently off. As is the ADSL connection... hence the root of my router problems.
I got the TOT guy out to fix what I thought was a problem on their end. The router he brought worked fine.Since then I have tried hard reseting the router with the button on the back, no help. I checked the configuration of the router, all seems fine. I've never updated the firmware and I'm in the process of getting the updater now. Perhaps that'll sooth my woes.
I bought the router in Oct. in Pathip, so the thing is still under warranty. The problem is that there is no phone number on the warranty sticker on the router, I cannot find the sales receipt AND I live 800km from BKK.
I'm really at a loss of what to do if the firmware update doesn't help... Any tips at all would be really appreciated. Hope hope hope.....

I'm sure I'm sorry I guess I was in a hurry.
Your router is screwed up. The light should be blinking. You need to get a new one. See if you have any warranty.

So, you don't have any warranty. How about calling the manufacturer to see if you can get it fixed and the price for fixing it.

Always save your receipt - especially in LOS.
Wanna buy a wireless router?![]()
1500 Baht! Hardly used and I have the receipt!
I have a warranty from the shop where I bought the router. They stuck a little sticker on the router with the date of purchase marked on. But I don't have their phone number or address. I think the place was on the third or fourth floor of Panthip. The shop mostly devoted to networking hardware.
mate, not being one of those, 'told you so guys', but when you buy anything from there, fortune town or the electronics part of mbk, make sure you get their number, a business card and remember where the dealer is!
"...ever wonder why they kill the weak ones, baby?"
ADSL routers are terrible for breaking down, same with set top boxes and any little gadget that is permenantly on.
They get too hot and fry, even in the UK i lost 2 routers within 2 years... Get a good model (Dlink is cheap stuff) and make sure its in a cool place or with a fan on it or something.
Just finding the same shop in MBK or Panthip can be a giant pain in the ass. Especially the outside the shop shops! Only in Thailand.

It might have been killed by a power surge. FYI, a power surge coming down the phone line in the computer killed the phone line surge protection in our UPS(you know the UPS that runs the router?) so we had to replace it with another one. It saved the router from being fried according to the TOT guys who came to the school that day. The ones who would have liked us to buy a new router. Also, remember that the router downstairs recently got fried, same thing. You know I am a conspiracy theorist so you know what I am thinking.
Well thanks for the helpful tips guys... too bad there weren't any magic fixes.
