I hope this will work for you. This file proved to be an awesome download test file to check torrent client settings, ISP throttling, etcetera.

Thak you for your patient help on that. I am not getting great speeds though, about 20-40kb/s so far, whereas I was getting 350kb/s on a couple of torrents from thebox.bz earlier today.

I read about that yesterday and did download it. It came pretty fast .. about 5 hours.

5(10) seeds, 8 peers in my current five-day game download (1.5 gigs), now running at less than 2 Kps.

That's not many seeds at all. Probably nothing to do with your connection. If you go to isohunt.com (no "www" before that) and type "axxo" in the search bar at the top, then choose the second torrent down, that has about 8000 seeds, give that a go and see what speeds you get (will probably start off slowly but give it 5 minutes or so).

Done. I didn't select the second though, got one with 2200 seeds, 780Mb. ETA flickers between 2 weeks and infinity.

Could it be the problem with his "CDMA Wireless" connection set up?

I suspect he is on their network and is invisible to outside world, he gets to download only from seeds his uTorrent contacted itself.

Normally your uTorrent registers with the tracker and anyone downloading this torrent tries to connect to you using your IP address, but in his case he is invisible, his CDMA provider won't let strangers connect to him.

It would have no influence on OpenOffice download because his uTorrent contacted those servers and CDMA let them through, but on general torrents with constantly changin pool of peers it might be a big drag on your potential speed.

I deleted it, back to music on Limewire, it has always worked for me. Likely the CAT pussies are protecting their bandwidth and choking torrents down.

My choice of torrent client, I tried uTorrent twice for several months, there's still something wrong with that program - on some torrents it downloads gigabytes of corrupted data, non-stop, from the same peers.

No waste like this on Asureus (now known as Vuze).

^ Might try it....I've been using U torrent for about a year now (it's on 24/7) and I've never had a problem (touch wood) with any corrupt files etc.

KK, uTorrent has its own pluses, a lot of them, but it was consistent in picking up garbage. I don't remember now, I think it was "24 season 6" or something like that - gigabites upon gigabites or discarded data. It happened all of a sudden and became persistent with some other downloads joining in, then I dropped it.

I might give it another try - use Azureus with my external hard drive and uTorrent when the Big One is plugged into something else, or Azureus will throw a bunch of errors about lost files.

I have down loaded four games, a movie and a lots of music with uTorrent from many locations. The movie came in good form, the music too. All four games had viruses, missing .dlls or damaged .exes
