I freaking LOVE utorrent.
I've been back in Thailand close to a year now...and torrents have made it so easy. I don't miss a thing from home. All the rugby league and stuff I want.
Also been downloading tonnes of shows lately. All of The Shield (great show), 24 etc.
If you leave it on overnight and have a very fast connection, you should download the biggest files. I.e. try and download the HIGH DEFINITION version of shows. They look and sound amazing.

Search Isohunt...the pirate bay...demonoid...before D/L anything and pick the largest seed.
I dound an ep of 24 last night that had 38 seeders. Fast enough. Then I found the same ep with 598 seeders and it absolutely flew.
If you download shows from America a day or two after they're shown...it's not uncommon to see 5000+ seeders. It flies then.

Same for me when I had uPNP enabled. But once I forwarded my ports (and no Zehner it does not sound like a sex act, you sicko!!) I get a green tick all the time. Makes me happy anyway.Originally Posted by defender

Ah well, didn't work for me. Which ISP do you use?
Excuse me for not taking this seriously .....
Buddy Broadband. But it might be more to do with your router, no?

Tried two different routers. The free True router was a definite no-go.
When I upgraded to a new wireless router I tried, but I use Linux and it was a pain in the ass frankly. To be honest I've been pretty happy without portforwarding over the years and generally I'm connectable anyway. My upload speeds are pretty good.

Well, I can't say as it makes a huge difference. I just wanted to get it working as it annoyed me that I couldn't.

no need to port forward if you use the compooter with the fruity name....just click a button in the prefernces and away ya go![]()
What? Apricot? No one uses them anymore you bananaOriginally Posted by zehner

Same, same here. It used to annoy me, so I manually forwarded the port.Originally Posted by SageAndOnion
When I took my laptop to work, I had to use an alternate configuration to acquire a dynamic IP address. This always screwed up the settings on the static one.
I don't know why, so in the end I just used uPnP port mapping. Greenie all the time.
yes apricot compooters..the saviour of the compooter world and scourge of gung-ho pooter gurus such as our sageandagroOriginally Posted by bet
