Copied games

I went to the computer games shop today and I looked at both DOOM3 and Unreal tournament2004. Now 2 questions but mainly about my first question.

1, 2 shops I went to at Seacon only had the copied versions of the games (which is what I want anyway) but they say that only originals can be played online(I know this isn't true as I have a copy of quake 3 and use a friends key for it online). Now if I can get hold of a key will these 2 particular games be able to go online?

2, Unreal tournament 2004- They offered me a 3 disk or a 6 disk game. Whats the difference...is it just that some mods and extras arent included?

Thanks

p.s. does anyone here play the 3 games mentioned above?

1: true; if you get a valid key, you can play online. Only one session at a time of same key is allowed, though.
2. have no idea
p.s. no

I couldn't play Far Cry online, because I had a copy of it. The problem was as above.

Doom 3 is basically a shoot 'em up game, with much better graphics than Doom 2.

Read the review here: http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/do...ml?tag=mp_2to9

Doesn't even come close to COD, Far Cry or Freedom Fighters.

Yeah. Just played the Call Of Duty: United Offensive demo. Top notch squad-based shooter.
Haven't seen much of Freedom Fighters so I'll check it out.

Demos can be downloaded from here: http://www.fileshack.com/
You need to register first though.

Freedom Fighters is only one disk. Not a difficult game to win.

I think the mistake you made was using a download manager in the first place.
I recommend you use Add/Remove Programs to delete the previous downloads and also physically remove the relevant folders.
Clear your history and use IE to download the demos again (IE sucks, I know).
You can use Opera browser to download which I prefer. The Stop/Resume Transfer option cannot be used though.
Btw jonboy, Doom 3 sucks. Try Call of Duty: United Offensive expansion pack.

Just got Freedom Fighters and it's great. How on Earth did I miss this one?
The lack of in level saves is annoying though.

I've also been checking out Half-Life 2 videos from Fileshack http://www.fileshack.com/file.x?fid=5420
Half-Life fans, check out the 'Coast' video.

generally when you download huge games, or downloads from the internet, they compact them into an image file.

not sure if this is the case for these games, but if it is- you'll first have to burn it to a cd using something like nero.

Anyone heard anything about Halflife 2? Apparently the distribution company is holding it hostage over a contractual dispute.

I've read on game sites that it is scheduled for release in November. In time for the Christmas sales. I reckon, it will be at least £38 here.
