How far would you go with old Stevie? I think pretty far.

I think the day when Apple OS can be installed on a generic machine is not too far off. I don't know why they still hang on to that outdated idea.

It can be done already, both Intel and AMD based. It is only about legalities which Jobs is very strict about. However he can't do anything about people putting OSX on a PC.

Re: Better to have Mac or PC in Bkk
I don't think legalities can stop people from installing pirated OS once they get the hang of it.
The only way to prevent this is to keep it extremely difficult - to tie up the OS with particular brand of hardware, say it won't work with anything but this particular configuration.
The answer to this is simple and time tested - they can stuff their Tigers and Leoturds up their asses.

That's not news. Logitech has had mac compatible webcams since OS 9. My own Quickcam Pro 4000 works under OS X and OS 9... that's why I got it in the first place (back when I had that beige 300Mhz box even).

On PCs we've been spoiled for hardware choice.

As well as a whole lot of other nasty things. We mac users have been spoilt of... oh nevermind.

Because Steve Jobs is still alive? I reckon he's got it VERY personal... this thing between the Mac OS and PeeCees. When poor Stevie is gone, watch the next person release OS X for PeeCees...
...then we'll REALLY see if OS X is indeed better than Windoze or not Save those compatibility/virus concerns for when the day comes!

You aree still missing the big picture animonster and by the looks of things will continue to miss it for some time, what make Windows better than OSx is that it is multi platform compatable, hell it will even works, as you like to point out, on a mac. Whereas OSx is tied to one platform only, and thus in order to get the OSx penis extention poor saps with the need are tied to Stevies gravy train.
There are two componants here OS and hardware platform, and until you can get that really simple idea past your thick skull you will never understand.
Now be a good little child and run away and try, try really really hard to think about the two different entities (OS and platform) try to think about the ramifications of the two seperate entities and one day, ok that day may be a long time in the future, you may get a small glimmer of the idea that multi compatability between various platforms is the way of the future.
THERE AGAIN YOU MAY WELL REMAIN TRAPPED IN A SPEND FAR MORE FOR A LOCKED PLATFORM/OS CYCLE, IF SO I PITY YOU.
Bye bye SAP!!!!

Haha. Are you really that (for lack of a better word) DUMB? After all this time I had thought a little more highly of you but you've just demonstrated how inept you really are at computer trends. The mac OS is only tied to specific hardware because Apple (albeit Steve Jobs) makes it that way. When the day comes they can easily port it to work on generic PC hardware. That's why I said to save your comments on compatibility issues for later -- because we'll see how well Apple can really port it to work on generic PC components then.
A little advice ks, try not to get your panties knackered up in a bunch so much because it makes your brain shrivel up and you start to spout out stuff almost as stupid as mine...

Re: Better to have Mac or PC in Bkk
Ah thankyou animonster! as I said in my previous post "and by the looks of things will continue to miss it for some time" and without fail you went and proved me right again.
Please try again, only this time really, really, really try and think. Yes, I know that thginking makes your brain hurt but try.
Go on, I will even say please, pretty please, try and think.
