Re: Better to have Mac or PC in Bkk

So you are at it again with your wee internet battles then Kidney. Alas, what else can we expect from a chap who never dodged a bullet in his years of service, other than to become an PC warrior.

As for Z outting the next person.....well, he knows your location and school..... how hard could the rest be?

And remember when you're doing this little experiment, anything you might not be able to figure out how to do on a Mac will just go to show how you are a bigger dullard than the simpletons you accuse Mac users of being.

Re: Better to have Mac or PC in Bkk

Eric, if you search this forum you'll find that I asked a lot of questions about Mac capabilities before, some were answered, some weren't. In this thread I mentioned only mobile devices connection problems and so far I found out that you have a very small chance that it will work straight out of the box, and that you might need to buy third party software or wait for the next OS update.

I noticed a kind of a pattern with Mac fans - you ask them a question, they say "it works". You asked them how - they say "fuck off you PC dullard who never touched the Mac before".

See what I'm saying - you don't learn anything useful from talking to Macheads, they are like snake oil salesmen.

Re: Better to have Mac or PC in Bkk

My Lenovo is somewhat crocked (broken optical drive and a dead pixel).

It's 3 weeks old.

What do you make of that, trep?

Re: Better to have Mac or PC in Bkk

Wow. Lots of responses. I was primarily concerned about compatibility issues.

In the end, I purchased the Mac. I really like the 17 inch screen, the ability to enlarge and minimize the screen with brushes of two fingers and the other general stuff one likes about a Mac. Compatability issues with my iPhone and iPod are also a positive.

I had to take the first one back because the headphone switch was defective resulting in an inability to use the internal or built-in speakers. This would never happen on a PC as a PC would allow you to select hearing device mode via a list of options. Macs can be too automated.

It looks like it has to be replaced or repaired under warranty.

There's a limit on the amount of dead pixels allowed, afaik. One dead pixel might be not enough.
