Macs are the computer of choice for Ajarn moderators.
You can't get much cooler than that.
Not!

Re: Better to have Mac or PC in Bkk
Who says mac users are cool?
Smug maybe, but cool?!?
They are an annoying bunch of wankers, what's cool about it?
Ok, calling them wankers is not very polite, but why else would they go on and on and on and on about their Macs? What kind of image do they think they project? There's a clear difference between their perception and reality. That's being ignorant and stupid, not cool.
If I ever buy a Mac, I don't want to be part of that club, thank you very much.

Because most Mac users love their Macs while some PC users like their PCs. No matter how much money MS has, or how much they copy from Apple, they can't seem to change that.

PC users like what they can do with their computers. Mac users like their Macs. See the difference?
For those obsessed with worshipping their hardware, there are a lot more choices for PC users. We can build any machine we like, Mac users have no choice but love what Steve Jobs gives them. It's like a "stockholm syndrome" - the hostages develop unusual bond with their captives.

Not true. And me being one of the biggest mac fanboys, I can say that at the moment I DON'T like my iMac because of what it CAN'T do now -- the GPU fried :P But I'm still generally happy because for 3 years I had never had a single virus or problem that has caused me to lose precious data (I have had one or two software-related problems, but none that has caused me to lose important data... just my temper). And even with a fried GPU I can still surf the net, do presentations (albeit without fancy effects), word processing and spreadsheets. Oh, I can also still use Photoshop and Illustrator And Flash. But I would rather have this one big problem now than the numerous, irritating problems Windoze users need to battle with on their machines on a day-to-day basis. Besides, I was about to get a new mac anyways.
I don't love my mac because it's a different machine. I love it because I can trust that I can get my work done efficiently, quickly and without any viruses or OS problems to worry about. I'm smug because I know that precious hours' work on a project are protected by my mighty OS X. Yes, I trust my mac, because as a computer it does what a computer is meant to do. And when it doesn't I bitch about it too (see that thread I just wrote on Time Machine and my older thread about my initial impressions of OS X Leopard). Many a Windoze user has already forgotten that computers are meant to work for the USER, and not the other way around. So while we mac users congratulate our macs for a good day's work, plenty Windoze users are still bowing down to the inferiority of their machines (caused by an inferior OS), looking like a bunch of sad slaves doing the bidding of their machines (like running anti-virus, checking for virus updates, clearing the registry, looking for the next would-be anti-virus-app-that-will-replace-the-current-one-when-the-free-trial-has-expired..etc.)
ANY computer that can get the job done without problems is a computer I would always have - mac or PC. If Windoze PCs were able to work as efficiently as macs do in the real world, I'd be using Windoze. But fact is -- they don't.
