Sounds reasonable. Thanks for clearing that up.

Re: Better to have Mac or PC in Bkk
If Windows problem is only with viruses and trojans, Mac is no safer - it's just less visible and so less attractive to attackers.
For all its glory Apple CAN'T produce a stable and secure OS that would work on a variery of hardware as MS does.

You better bolt the doors and windows tonight. Please don't every say "Steve Jobs" three times at midnight while standing in front of a mirror either.

Re: Better to have Mac or PC in Bkk
Just last Saturday I observed two Mac users in a free Wifi sandwich shop on Koh Tao. One was trying to download a song and show it to another. Apparently her connection broke or something, but she lost it at 98% completition.
Drop Safari, use Opera.
My previous experience with Mac users was even worse - it was a Buddhist presenter with his shiny Mac and "KeyNote" or whatever. He looked like a total moron because his Mac didn't have VGA out to connect to the projector. He came all the way from the UK for this presentation that had to be run on someone else's laptop.
Now I'm very sceptical when someone says that Mac users just hum along busy with their work. Not in my [limited] experience.

Interesting. The guy was definitely an idiot to not have brought the right adaptor (He probably uses them newer DVI projectors back in the UK)! Macs have a mini DVI port -- years ahead of the old legacy PeeCee VGA, but still requiring the old, legacy PeeCee VGA adaptor to work on (obviously)VGA equipment. Remember, it was us mac users who were also some of the first to have those flat things called LCD monitors, and those two weird wireless things called Bluetooth and wifi. Oh yeah, and it was also us first to have that funny thing called a mouse! I'll give the PC market another 5-7 years to catch up with DVI. Meantime, I have no trouble with my mac as I definitely pack a mini DV-DVI adaptor when I do presentations. Ever wondered how Apple makes their hardware so sleek?
So the guy had a problem with his mac having higher technology than the facilities'. I have to admit, that sometimes the mac can be TOO advanced in these cases. There's no excuse for stupidity. The example you mentioned was clearly failure on the user's part.

They already have DVI. Are you quite mad?

Aah...a design oversight then. PCs come with both (this is excluding prehistoric video cards of course). Isn't it rather stupid that you have to buy an adaptor to use a technology that is still widely implemented in many display products? And you are so blinded by your own infatuation with all things Apple that you actually see this as an advantage?
Out of interest, is it PCs you don't like or Microsoft, or both? You seem to be launching a multi-pronged attack on both hardware and software. Can I assume that you have a similar disregard for Linux distributions for instance? Obviously in the case of PCs, whether or not you have such things as a DVI output are dependant on the manufacturer of your PC (if you bought a branded item) or possibly the manufacturer of your video card in other cases (we have a choice unlike yourself).
Or maybe you are referring specifically to laptops which are not quite so easy to modify? Just trying to understand your position, as in the heat of your seditious rage, you sometimes go flying off in many directions.

Re: Better to have Mac or PC in Bkk
I was under the impression that they both use the same hardware base these days called Intel.
And DVI on a lappie? Oops just looked it up indeed a big block in your notebook.

Re: Better to have Mac or PC in Bkk
I didn't realise that we were talking about laptops / notebooks specifically but Fujitsu Siemens, Dell, Satellite, Hewlett Packard among others all produce laptops with DVI or HDMI outputs. Even Acer, the maker of my crappy laptop, have models with DVI output.
