Re: Better to have Mac or PC in Bkk
Here's another group of devices that won't work with Macs - mobile phones.
I've yet to see a mobile phone that would come with a Mac suit.
Everyone has a mobile phone, everyone moves pictures or music from the phone to pc once in a while, yet Mac users are excluded from these common tasks.
I doubt that PDAs that run on Windows mobile platform work with Macs either.

Re: Better to have Mac or PC in Bkk
Back in 2004 when I was shopping for a notebook Sony Ericsson Air card didn't have Mac drivers, and it was my primary Internet access, so the Mac or PC dilemma was solved very easily.
None of the Nokias I had before nor my current Samsung, nor LG, nor a few Siemenses had "PC suit" for Macs.

Where do you think all my Zairean Magic guitar riff ringtones come from? And how'd I post my Ayuttaya travel thread w/ pics when I'd broken my camera and used my phone instead?

Sorry, this makes no sense at all? Some of them do? Nearly all of the manufacturers do...and besides you are comparing them with your choice of ONE manufacturer alone...so I really don't get your point at all? Dell and Hewlett Packard are the two largest PC manufacturers in the world and they both make models with DVI outputs.
If on the other hand you mean some models, then that would be because the range of PC laptops is huge, catering to all budgets, whereas the range of Macs is miniscule and does not cater to all budgets.
If I want to buy a laptop then I have a wide range of manufacturers and configurations to choose from.
You don't.

Re: Better to have Mac or PC in Bkk
Actual experiences like PC users trouble free use of their machines you mean? We will try to keep that out of the argument as it obviously doesn't fit with the Apple propaganda that you swallow whole.

Re: Better to have Mac or PC in Bkk
I punched "sony ericsson pc suite mac" in google and the first result was "I have a Sony Ericsson W810 and the software that comes with it (for transfers between phone and computer) is for PC, does anyone know of any Mac alternative??"
Would that be the most common type of questions for Mac users - "I bought .... and it doesn't have Mac support. Where can I find an alternative?"

Re: Better to have Mac or PC in Bkk
^gonna answer my question?
from 2002...
iSync Synchronizes Your Mac, Phone, PDA and iPod
by Staff, 11:45 AM EDT, July 17th, 2002
At today's Keynote, Apple introduced iSync -- software that uses Bluetooth to synchronize the information on your Macintosh with your PalmOS device, cellular phone, and iPod. Along with Cingular Wireless and Sony Ericsson, Apple will be working towards what they claim is 'the first easy-to-use, integrated "Mac to Mobile" solution.' According to Apple's press release today: “Cell phones are the world’s most popular digital device, but up until now, there’s been almost no cooperation between them and personal computers,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “iSync lets users have the same up-to-date address book and calendars everywhere—on their Mac and in their pocket.”
“Cingular is thrilled to see Apple take the lead in bringing easy-to-use mobile solutions to market,” said Stephen Carter, president and CEO of Cingular. “With a Mac, our customers using the new Sony Ericsson T68i phone are at the leading edge of the mobile services revolution—keeping their contact list and calendar up-to-date between their Mac and their phone, sending and receiving text messages from their Mac, and surfing the web with our new Wireless Internet Express Network.”
“There is great synergy between Sony Ericsson and Apple in terms of how we see new services developing for the consumer and in our commitment to make applications easy to use,” said Katsumi Ihara, president of Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications. “Apple’s approach to working with mobile technology will scale well into the next generation phones that take on imaging, music and entertainment functions, and we see many more ways that our products can complement each other in the future.”
