I haven't figured it out fully yet. So far I've just messed around with the music player. The 2 Mac CDs that came with it took well over an hour to install. Works right from box my swiss. Then I tried to install a programme I got from Pantip to no avail.

It is very fancy though. Looks great. everything clicks, whirs and purrs nicely. Is it worth it? I sincerely f*#king hope so. It was a lot of money for me.

Sure am. Despite how easy I'm told the Mac is to use, I'll still need someone to show me I think. I'm in the local internet shop on a shitty Samatron (?) pc.

Well, I could understand your confusion... but try to take it a step at a time. There's just so much you can do with it that rushing in won't yield the best results. And trep... yes, I'm quite interested in how this will change his workflow as well...

So first of all, let's get you set-up with wifi Robitusson: Click on the black apple in the upper left hand corner of the screen (this is called the Apple Menu), and then choose Location>Automatic (it's probably already selected) you should now be able to pick up wifi signals (actually, prior to this step you should anyways. This just makes sure your settings are set to the default -- which is set to pick up wifi signals).

Next, look for the Airport (wifi) menu at the top right of your screen: it's the one with the quarter-circle of stripes (or if it's off, an empty quarter-circle). If it's off, click on "Turn Airport On". This menu lists the wireless networks available to your mac. Hopefully one of these has an internet connection. If any of these has a padlock next to the name, then that's a "closed" or secure network: you'll need a password to hop on those (there's a reason why they're called 'closed' networks). Actually, a real closed network would be one that doesn't even appear on the list... but oh what the hell.

Thanks for the help. I think the guy who does the wi-fi where I am has to type in the computer number for you to receive the wireless. He'll be around this evening.

I'm gonna go back to the shop tomorrow and get them to install the programmes I want.

One problem I've noticed is when you ask a question it tries to connect to the internet. The machine presumes your connected and that it can refer you to a site, presumably one with the answer to your question.

Update the software too. Go to the Appun logo, top left, click on it, then click on Software Update...

Actually it is a little weird. The instruction book says "you and your Mac were made for each other" on the opening page. Turn the page and it has "iLife" complete with a logo. iLife, just like normal life but better, glossier and easier to use.
