    Connecting Wii

I want to connect my Wii to the internet.

I have a DSL modem. Which as I understand won't connect directly into the Wii. ( I have tried. ) Apparently you need a special Nintendo one.

I have a Netgear USB Wireless Adapter WG111v2.

Can I use this as my access point to the internet?

When I plugged it in, it seems it wants to find a network to connect to, rather than be used as a wireless connecting point????

Can anyone help me with this? Am I doing something wrong or, do I need to buy a wireless router, or is there a patch to override the LAN connection so the Wii thinks its connecting through the Nintendo router.

    Thanks in advance

    Happy New Year

I mean to connect through DSL not wifi apparently you need a Nintendo modem. The built in one is wifi only. I want to connect through my USB adapter I'm having problems, hence the op.

    Thanks anyway

You need a wireless router bro. Anyone around you got an open one you can pirate? Might be worth going into the wii's list of available connections just to take a look.

    Re: Connecting Wii

Like others have said, you need a wireless router. The adapter is for you to connect through a wire. As far as I know, you can't use a 3rd party adapter to connect the Wii to the Internet.
