Skype seems to be fine on a decent connection, for both picture and sound. I'm using a laptop.
Gadget, are you sure that it is not as you stated, a camera.
I have a built in camera on my pc but it is not a web cam.
I would not work in this country if you paid me.
chappy, you got a builtin cam that isnt a webcam? hows that work?ok, fam, lets all get in front of the computer to take our picture...??
gadget, skype or msn should work without a hitch. yahoo can be finicky from my exp. make sure your cam utility program is NOT open before opening skype, etc. you often cannot have both open.
Messenger has been shite for weeks now. Go to Skype, far better IMO. I've given up on Mssgr both in Thailand and overseas. Shite I say (messenger).
Samsara
So if it is a webcam, wouldn't it say so on it, or in the settings somewhere.
Would it not have a connect button/tab also.
Would it not have some inference somewhere stating it is a webcam ??
It just says camera capture utility
So with you been an authority on my pc maybe you could help me out.

just saying it makes no sense to have a camera that only takes pics built into a pc. is the camera in the tower or monitor? mounted? notebooks have them in the screen nowadays a la macs. pcs typically go the mounted route. just do a model search on google and check out the specs.
I think all built-in cameras on laptops are webcams but you cannot see that in your operating system. There it says camera capture utility because that's they only thing it can do within the OS.
When your start Yahoo Messenger, MSN Messenger or Skype you can go to preferences and choose your built-in camera to work as a webcam.
Good luck![]()
Start your camera software and check if that works first. Then use Skype.
Thanks everyboy for your help.
camera works perfect on Skype but not on Yahoo.![]()
