    Ipod Question

I have been planing on buying an Ipod for some time now and I'm about to take the plunge. Before I do so I have a few questions which hopefully someone will be able to answer.

    - Is it possible to buy an Ipod with a radio function?

    - Can I use Torrents to download music to an Ipod? I'm told that the only way of downloading to an Ipod is through Itunes....>?

All comments would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    VM
    Grace

    Re: Ipod Question

Any music that is on your computer in MP3 format (nearly all is or the format can be changed easily) will work on your IPOD, I have never once downloaded music from Itunes and I had a 30GB Ipod almost full with music

I'm not too sure about the radio function though, maybe try looking at the Ipod websites and look at what functions each ipod has.

    Re: Ipod Question

Surely you get an ipod to listen to music you like, rather than inane dj dribble and shite music?

'Heeey UAE, weather warm this morning (oh ****ing really??)......I was just saying to Sharon the newsgirl that she actually should be ....MYY SHARONA!...SHE'S GOT A 'KNACK' FOR IT!!'

    **CLICK!!**

    Time for Radiohead....

Any music you've downloaded will be compatible with your ipod.

You just have to download 'itunes' onto your 'puter.

If your music is in 'non MP3' (eg WMA) format, then i-tunes will convert it for you automatically. This is easy, but can take a while if you have a shedload of songs of course.

In my experience it's easier to convert songs from other formats to use on your i-pod than it is to do it the other way round.

I'm not keen on ipods at all to be honest. I prefer Creative. Get me one of these anyday:

See there, I know you're there
Look at me with your evil glare
Squeeze me tight 'cause I like it rough
Baby I just can't get enough

I think you are like me. We recognize the iPod and iPhone to be great devices, but find the things they cannot do a bit stupid. I second your choice. Look for something else or get a nice phone.

You can transfer music wirelessly too with the creative zen x fi which is awesome. What really bugs me is that you can walk into any electrical store in the UK and see a massive ipod display but no sign of any other mp3 player. I am getting mine from amazon.

    Re: Ipod Question

I would only go for an Ipod now, I was a bit anti Ipod in the beginning, I bought something called an I-river and a Zen, they both died within a year, total waste of money. I don't think i-tunes converts WMA automatically but it is possible to convert the file.

Thinking about it, you're right davey.

It isn't automatic. I-tunes prompts you (Something like 'I tunes has detected one or more of these files is not in MP3 format - would you like to convert them) and you click 'yes'.

For sure there are plenty of other players out there. My first player about 6 years ago was creative, with capacity for about 25 songs.

Of course 'creative' have moved on since then, but after my first buy I got a 'nano shuffle' and I suppose I got hooked on i-pod's ease of use. It's still chugging along 4 years after I bought it, and I now also have an ipod classic. Though I hate that stooopid word 'classic' I've now got all my songs on 'i-tunes' and it's unlikely I'll switch.

My wife has a creative 'stone'. I find it a bit plasticcy and fiddly personally, but she likes it.

yeah, you can't fault ipods really I think. i think when you load i-tunes you have to chose what formats you will be using but you can just pick WMA as well as MP3/4.

I know they sell an AM/FM accessory for it. It costs around $50-60 USD
