Re: ISO I don't get it
You need to burn the iso as a disk image, using Nero or Alcohol120. If you just burn the iso file it will not work.

Re: ISO I don't get it
Or use a program like Daemon Tools to make a virtual drive and mount it to access the contents.

Re: ISO I don't get it
Alternatively you can use virtual device software such as Alchohol120% or Daemon tools, and mount the image and install it from there. No physical CD required.
You should be able to download it from here...

Re: ISO I don't get it
Yeah, I'm not that computer savvy, not so bothered about monopoly now but have downloaded XP service pack 3, as every time Somchai fixes it it comes back worse off. So i have put all the files to a disc, but i'm guessing i should have mounted it first, so I have downloaded deamon tools, how do i go about mounting the iso file then putting it on a cd?

Re: ISO I don't get it
An iso is a file that contains an image of a cd or dvd.
That image file can be stored on dvd's or cd's as 'data' but when you do this it cannot be read. This is what you did.
Nero, Alcohol, UltraISO, and BlindWrite and several other programs are use to do many things with image files.
a) You can create them
b) You can use them to burn an iso file on your computer as an 'image'
c) You can exract the data from the image to a folder on your hard drive
d) You can create a virtual drive and mount the image on it. This virtual drive will show up in windows explorer with a new letter F:, G: or whatever you call it. When you click on that drive the content of the ISO image will be available, as if you had put a cd into your optical cd drive.
Different programs use different extensions for image files, but most can read image files created by any software. Common image files are: nrg, iso, daa, mds/mdf, bin/cue, cdi, ccd

Re: ISO I don't get it
So Daemon tools has a mount and drive manager, if i put the file in there and burn then I should be able to put it onto a disk then load it from there right?

Re: ISO I don't get it
Daemon tools is a virtual drive. Once installed it will appear in the little system tray at the bottom RHS. If you click on it, maybe right click I can't remember, you will see a little menu that gives you the option of setting a number of virtual drives.
Right click on the drive and select mount image. Then search for your iso file and mount it.
The iso then behaves like it was burned onto a CD. It's very straightforward, with a little tinkering you'll have it in no time.

Re: ISO I don't get it
Ah I see, it has created a drive in my computer, so i have double clicked and now it's installing. I guess when I come to do the windows re-install i'll do the same thing.
bollocks, now it's asking for the original cd to be inserted, fuck it, i'll just buy the copy at fortune.

Re: ISO I don't get it
You might need an exe crack so it bypasses the cd check.

Re: ISO I don't get it
Is the ISO file a burned image of a master CD?
If it's a pirate disc there should be a folder called 'crack' that has an .exe file and possibly other files like a .dll that needs to be copied to the directory of the game program. You will find that in C: - Program Files - name of the game company (eg. Sierra or Hoyles). There's usually a readme file that goes over what you need to do for a pirated or cracked file in the crack folder of the disc.
If it's a Master then you can't play from it unless you can find the crack .exe file on the internet somewhere.
It's better if you find someone to sit down and go over it with you the first time.
