This is a bit of an embarrassing question.
On an Acer Aspire 5670 laptop.
Where is the WIFI switch on the laptop to turn on and off, WIFI?
It's #10... this is the internet.... what's the problem?

Manned-Rake. Thanks for the help *bowing down.*
But here is the problem: number #10, I slide it to the right, and it slides back to the left.
So is it stuck? Is it stuck in the "off" position or the "on" position.
Again to note, my WIFI worked for a year or two after buying it, and 2 years ago stopped. So I just used the LAN connection.
Now I NEED to use WIFI for a new apartment.
There is a red "X" over my wifi icon....
It's not uncommon for these switches to be sprung. So it might not be stuck on or off. There should be an LED indicator somewhere as well to show if it's on or off.
Check for updated drivers or you could also try uninstalling in device manager and restarting.
The truth is - you can pass the tests!
But yes, I doesn't show which button is for wifi and it's also in a completely different location than Manned Rakes diagram.
I still cannot find it. I'll probably visit an IT person to see if it's another problem.
The pic by Manned-Rake is correct. The wifi button is a spring and was stuck (I think).
When I jam it/keep it open using a toothpick, I can dial into wifi and see the 'secured' and 'unsecured' networks as there are many in my area - but I still cannot get wifi.
Software isse? Even though I bought it in 2006 and wifi was possible?
Driver was noted also by a poster.
I suppose my last resort is to contact an IT guy.
Put your glasses on and study the keyboard, maybe they're printed in very dark blue on a black background...
