Ok forget the iPad, Surface and Nexus for a moment ... this is very different but just as astounding.
Especially if you:
A) Want a very low cost media center
OR
B) Are into serious gaming: Raspberry comes with a lightning fast GPU which outperforms even the iPhone 4S by a factor of two according to the manufacturer.
OR
C) Need an educational tool for students or yourself. It's an ideal way to learn hardware basics or programming.
OR
D) Need a device to control your robot
Personally, I'm mostly C) and a little of A) and B). What's the catch? It's just the mainboard with ports and connectors, and an SD card for installing Linux on. And you'll need some free time. There's a long waiting list at RS if you live in Thailand. I joined it this morning. But if anyone knows of a board that's just as powerful (and small and cheap) at pantip, let me know. I haven't been there for a while.
