Ajarn Xmas Party - Charity Donation

This morning my wife and I visited The Christian Foundation for the Blind in Thailand to donate the money raised by you lot at the Xmas Bash on Christmas Eve. A total of 12000 Baht was raised and we rounded it up to 15000 Baht.

This place does a fantastic job of providing care to over 40 children suffering from blindness and mental disabilities. Many of the children here were abandoned by their parents at hospitals after they found out the severity of their disabilities. These children thrive on contact with people, some of the most seriously disabled children managed a big smile when you hold their hand or give them a hug – a moving experience.

If any of you have some free time to visit them and maybe take along some food or supplies or cash then please make the effort to go.

Here is a link to their website and a few photos from today.

Once again, a big THANKS to everyone who came to the Xmas Bash, the money you spent getting pissed is going to a help a lot of kids..

    Cheers

    Chris,

My hats off to you!! Really really a job well done. I shall pass that information on to all I know. Kicking in the extra was the spicing on the cake. Thanks again for all Chris.

Great news, Chris! I remember you telling us that the proceeds would go to a charity. You made a wonderful choice on your charity. Those kids will appreciate all the love and care they get. Very touching. Hats off to you!

    Nice one mate.

Warms my heart to think the beer I consumed actually did something worthwhile.

Sadly, I'll miss the next christmas here as I will be back in Australia by then.
Faith, by itself, isn't a good enough reason to believe. Instead, a belief must be defensible through reason, logic, and evidence.
The idea that faith is somehow justified by the fact that the beliefs cannot be proven is a truly Orwellian position to adopt - not to mention intellectually and ethically dangerous.

In tribute to this selfless act (the pics are wonderful), I will go out, buy tinned tomatoes, and eat them on toast.

Please except my gagging in the spirit which it is offered.

Nice pics mate. I'll drop by The Home when I'm in Bangers next. Looks like a very worthwhile org.

    Cheers.

Are you going to do it again mate? If you are I am close to a school for blind children, i've done some work for them and my girlfriend is wanting (but still hasnt ) to read for them and teach them english.... it will be all charity work but they appreciate it, also there is a school i've done work for that is for abused girls, have classes ranging from 40 - 6 and it's worth it!
Daniel Bedingfield claimed that his new album is what it would sound like if Sting, Stevie Wonder and Micheal Jackson were in a basement together - I haven't got the album so I'll have to imagine the sound of a blind bloke and a Geordie kicking the shit out of a pedophile.
